Take you car and drive into the Schnalstal, then take the right-hand turning into the wild, romantic Pfossental and leave your vehicle at the Vorderkaser car-park at 1700 mt.
The Pfossen valley extends up into the very heart of the beautiful Texel Group Nature Park and is the largest of its kind in South Tyrol. It is one of the most unspoilt, remote valleys in the entire province and is home to an especially scenic part of the well-known Meraner Höhenweg, a high Alpine path which meanders along the mountain slopes of the entire area. The Pfossen valley is known for its unique flora and fauna and is a favourite place for hikers and nature-lovers who apprecaite the peace-and-quiet to be found there. The path from the Vorderkaser car-park leads upwards into the valley passing Mitterkaser and Rableid on its way to the Eishof. Those who want a more exacting hike can walk on for another 3 hours to the Stettiner Hütte at 2,900 mt. or simply take the same path back to the car-park.
